Rowan class have used drama to act out a scene in “Street Child” where Jim Jarvis takes their last shilling to buy a pie from the meat pudding shop.
Street Child is a fictional account of the experiences of Jim Jarvis, a young orphan who escapes the workhouse in 1860’s London and survives brutal treatment and desperate circumstances until he is taken in by Dr. Barnardo, founder of a school for the city’s “ragged” children.
The children enjoyed acting this out and did a great job. Well done Rowan Class! We took some pictures of this lesson, which can be seen in the gallery below. Please click on the thumbnails for a larger view.
