What a fantastic day of learning we had at DKH on Tuesday! The children were taught by four different teachers in four different classrooms and enjoyed learning about a range of black artists and exploring hidden histories, cultures and identities. The artists children learned about included 19th Century Trinidadian artist Michel-Jean Cazabon, British/Nigerian artist Yinka Shonibare and Turner Prize winner Lubaina Himid.
Children were exposed to different art forms such as sketching, fabric collage, painting, creating African patterns, printing and using chalks to create a whole group frieze. You can see more of their work here.
