It is with a heavy heart that I have to advise you that although Sports Day will continue, we will be unable to invite parents and carers. I want to assure you that the Senior Leadership Team has given this a great deal of thought and considered all of the options and risks. After careful review of the Government and DfE guidelines and the evident increase in recent Covid cases nationally, we have had to make the difficult decision to not invite parents, as spectators, to this event.
We understand and share in the disappointment this message brings. We are acutely aware that many of our children and their families are looking forward to seeing relatives, possibly for the first time in over a year, during the summer holidays. Bringing together large groups of spectators increases the risk of virus transmission and we want to do everything we can to prevent the need for isolation and further disappointment. We trust that you will support this decision.
I can assure you we will do everything to make sure your children have a wonderful Sports Day full of a range of activities including competitive track races and opportunities for children to beat their personal best times from previous athletics lessons.
There will be a photographer taking photos of the events and we look forward to sharing these photographs with you though our newsletter, website and Twitter feed.
