This week is Walk To School Week. We are setting our children the challenge of walking to school every day (or as many days as they possibly can)! And we would love your help with this. In school the children have been discussing the benefits of walking to school, which include:
- Keeping fit
- Helping with air pollution
- Being ready and alert for learning
- Saving money
If walking to school everyday is not possible, there are other ways to reduce vehicle use: walk to school on alternate days; get off the bus a few stops early; travel to school by bike or scooter. Apart from the environmental benefits, health professionals recommend 60minutes of exercise per day. What better way to start!
