Recently in June our Year 6 classes set off for a Summer Residential trip to the Gordon Brown Centre located in the rural countryside of Rotherwick, Hook for a series of fun and exciting outdoor learning and team building exercises.
Originally as part of a family Estate dating from 1774 the grounds which cover 25 acres are set in a conservation area and benefit from a wealth of natural charms and designed facilities that provide children with a lifelong experience. The grounds were named the “Gordon Brown Centre” in the 1980’s after a well-known scientist from Brent, who was a lifelong advocate of the centre and a strong believer in the benefits that it provides to a child’s development.
Children have been supported by a team of dedicated staff and visitors have received high quality services since 1976. The Centre prides itself on providing visitors with a personalised experience built around their requirements.
The children enjoyed a wide range of outdoor learning skills including campfire and hut building, sensory exercises, climbing sporty fun and outdoor games all under the supervision and expert tutelage of the centre organisers.
We took a huge selection of pictures throughout the trip for you to look back on and enjoy. We have separated the activities into galleries. For a larger view, please click on the thumbnails below.
