On 12th March 2024, we were very fortunate to welcome Gita Ralleigh to our school. Gita is a poet, writer and doctor and she shared how her passion for reading as well as stories about her life and family, inspired her to write. When she began writing, she set her own fantasy adventure in an alternative version of India: Indica.
She inspired us all by providing top tips to write and shared that reading as a writer and editing your writing, is key. Gita also shared her latest book, “The Destiny of Minou Moonshine” and each class at DKH were lucky enough to receive a copy of the book! The children had the opportunity for a ‘question and answer’ session with Gita, which they thoroughly enjoyed.
We’d like to thank Gita for visiting our school and for inspiring our young writers at DKH. Who knows: perhaps one day in the future, we’d be able to invite one of our pupils as a visiting author to the school.
“Keep going and believe your story matters!” Gita Ralleigh
