It’s going to be a very busy and exciting day for everyone at DKH Primary this Friday as we combine two monumental British celebrations into one. The whole school will be celebrating both London History Day and of course the Platinum Jubilee celebrations honouring her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II 70th year on the throne.
Platinum Jubilee Picnic:
Terry and Tom have been festooning the Bunting around the playground in preparation for the Jubilee picnic, which starts at 12pm. The children will gather in the playground to eat a celebratory picnic lunch and enjoy a glorious day of celebrations in the name of our Queen. Please provide your child with a picnic blanket or sheet and children are encouraged to wear red, white and blue on the day. This will be a fun event to round off this half term!
London History Day:
We will also be celebrating our amazing City of London with great pride and admiration as all year groups look at famous Londoners who have both inspired and instigated great leaps of change for the people of our Capital.
The workshops for each year group are as follows:
- Early Years – Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II
- Years 1 and 2 – Famous London Authors
- Year 2 – Famous London Musicians
- Years 3 and 4 – Famous London Artists
- Year 5 – Famous London Scientists
- Year 6 – Famous London Designers (architects and fashion designers)
Their is a real buzz around the school as the children are all looking forward to the many fantastic activities taking place tomorrow and of course, some wonderful food as well.
