What’s on this December?
We are now drawing into December and our last few weeks before we break for the Christmas season so as you can imagine, we have a fun packed few weeks ahead of us with a plethora of exciting events coming up.
So that you know what is happening and when we have created this quick reference “Christmas Events” blog for you so have your diary at the ready to make a note of those important dates.
Winter Fair:
Our annual Winter Fair will take place on Friday 1st December 2023 from 3:30 until 5:30pm.
Lots to do and to enjoy to get you into that festive spirit including Santa’s Grotto, Mulled Wine, Christmas gift ideas and stalls and much more.
Year 1 and Year 2 Christmas Performance:
On Monday 11th December 2023 from 9:30am, Year 1 and 2 children will be offering a beautiful Nativity style performance entitled “The Bossy King”. This song and dance extravaganza and a charming nativity story about a very bossy king who changes his ways when he meets the Baby Jesus. Here are a few shots from rehearsals today.
Year 3 and Year 4 Christmas Performance:
On Tuesday 12th December Years 3 and 4 children will be taking us on a trip to Spain to get a taste of Spanish life and culture during the festive season. We will hear some Spanish Christmas Carols, see traditional Spanish dance, and hear about the many Spanish customs that represent Christmas In Spain and other Spanish speaking countries around the world. Show starts at 2:20pm.
Year 5 and Year 6 Christmas Performance:
On Wednesday 13th December, our year 5 and 6 children will be performing a selection of Carols from “Wassail” by Alexander L’Estrange. Wassail! is a sequence of choral arrangements of uplifting traditional carols, both sacred and secular. It also includes one new song by Joanna & Alexander L’Estrange, Spring will come again. Wassail/wassailing itself means many things: a drink, a cup, a dance, a celebration, carol-singing…!
Show starts at 9:15am.
Christmas Dinner and Christmas Jumper Day:
On Thursday 14th December 2023, do remember to dress up festive in your amazing Christmas Jumper! On this day, the children will also sit down to their first Christmas Lunch of the season. Our amazing kitchen staff will be offering a delicious feast of Roast Turkey with all of the traditional Christmas trimmings, plus a delightful dessert selection. You can find the menu on the newsletter and on the homepage of the website. Of course, we have vegetarian options and all of our Christmas menu is nut free.
EYFS Christmas Performance:
Our Early Years Christmas Carol performance will take place on Monday 18th December starting at 9:30am.
Our wonderful children will be ready to wow you with a selection of classic Christmas Carols for you all to enjoy.
Class Parties:
Class party fun will take place on Tuesday 19th December for each class. We will have music, party games, party food and more.
If you would like to offer any party food for your classes party, please be sure to discuss this with your class teacher first as we need to adhere to our allergens policy.
School Panto:
On Wednesday 20th December 2023 it’s Panto Time! Oh no it isn’t! OH YES IT IS!!! We have a number of shows on offer throughout the day delivered by the fantastic team at “Teach it with drama”. Please see the timetable below.
