This morning for Science, Eucalyptus Class examined how friction affects how an object moves across different surfaces. All surfaces have different textures and it is this texture that determines how an object moves across it.
We tested rolling a toy car down a slope and onto three different types of material. These materials were sandpaper, carpet underlay and grass and then recorded how far the toy car would travel on each surface before coming to a complete stop.
The children recorded their results in a table measuring distance. You can see some action shots from this experiment in the gallery below.
