It’s music time at DKH Primary School and as usual, our music maestro Margaret of Margaret’s Music is here to help our children master the wonderful sounds of the Ukulele.
The Ukulele is like a small guitar and has a long history. The instrument, with its four plastic strings and a short neck, originated in Europe and was introduced to Hawaii in 1879 when a Portuguese immigrant named Joao Fernandez jumped off the boat and started strumming and singing with his branguinha (a small guitar-like instrument, sometimes called the machete).
