Today, Rowan class were joined by MyBnk to talk about money matters! This was the third workshop with Rita from MyBnk and our budding financiers who are thoroughly enjoying the budget and finance orientated workshops hosted by this specialist team.
About MyBnk:
Together with young people, MyBnk create and deliver innovative, high-impact and high-energy financial education programmes. Their experts help to build young people’s money knowledge, skills, mind-sets, and habits at key transitional moments. Two thirds of our work is with young adults in vulnerable circumstances focusing on ‘survival’ money skills for independent living.
Many of their programmes are free or funded and can be delivered either directly in-person, virtually via secure video link or as online courses. MyBnk reaches 32,000 young people a year and has the UK’s strongest evidence base on the impact of financial education. This experience is shared with civil society and via consultancy services for other organisations.
These financial education workshops help form positive habits like saving and delayed gratification, connect the dots between public and personal finance and arm young people with practical money skills. This teaches them how to navigate the system and make informed decisions. Topics range from budgeting, banking and borrowing to student finance, tax and pensions.
