I am excited to let you know that School Council elections are taking place this week. Children in Years 2 to 6 have been encouraged to consider running for school council by sharing their ideas and vision for the school and then asking their peers to vote for them. We shot some video of our year 6 candidates delivering their speeches here. Please click on the play button to view. On 12th October children will be voting for the peer they want to represent them on the DKH School Council.
Pupil voice is highly regarded at DKH and one of the ways our children can express their ideas is via the School Council. School Council gives children a voice in school decisions, fosters communication, solves problems, develops leadership skills, builds community and also promotes the understanding of British values such as democracy while encouraging mutual respect within the school community. We are looking forward to welcoming our new School Council soon and will share election results with you next week.
