This morning, Eucalyptus started the day by studying some cross sections of their namesake. In Science, we have been learning about the functions of different parts of plants. In our studies we also learnt about the relationship between the age of a tree and the number of rings inside a tree.
This morning was a great opportunity for the children to see this in person. (Additionally, we also scrunched the leaves of the tree to smell eucalyptus oil which the children described as a mixture of sweet and minty.) Eucalyptus also had a plaster cast of what they identified as Ancient Egyptian.
