As part of a cross curricular activity for English and art, Beech Class have been reading the classic novel “Treasure Island” by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson, telling a story of “buccaneers and buried gold”.
The story is about a young boy named Jim Hawkins who goes on a dangerous adventure to recover buried treasure. Along the way, he encounters mutinous pirates, marooned castaways, frightening tales of ghosts, and much more.
For Art, the children were tasked with creating their own Pirate characters and drawing them. They did an amazing job as you will see in the gallery below. Please click on the thumbnails for a larger view.
