Today was the first day of our planned “Cycle to School” Week. Why should you and your family get on your wheels and join in? Bike riding encourages children to spend more time outside, something that’s proven to be great for their development. In addition: Cycling burns calories so helps with weight management. It’s a really simple way to encourage low-impact exercise and promote a healthy lifestyle in children and teenagers.
More fantastic reasons to cycle to school:
- Cycling encourages independence in our children!
- Cycling reduces congestion and supports cleaner air. Fewer cars mean quieter and safer roads, especially around our school gates!
- An active start to the day is fantastic for health and gets children ready for learning.
- And last but not least, it’s just plain FUN!
Let’s cycle, scoot or even roller-skate our way to a healthier, happier, and more eco-friendly school experience.
